Mudgeeraba is where the Gold Coast starts climbing, and that changes the job. Bigger blocks, more trees, sheds and second dwellings, and roofs that get shaded at times of day a flat suburban roof never does. Design matters more here than anywhere else we work.
On an unshaded suburban roof, panels wired in a string all perform much the same. On a Mudgeeraba acreage block with mature gums to the west, one shaded panel can drag down every panel on its string — and the shade moves through the day and through the year. This is the single most common reason a hinterland system underperforms what the customer was promised.
The fix is panel-level electronics: optimisers or microinverters, so each panel reports and performs on its own. It costs more than a plain string setup, and on a clear roof we will tell you not to bother. On a treed block it is usually the difference between a system that meets its numbers and one that quietly does not. We assess the shading before quoting, not after.
Acreage blocks also tend to have more than one building. Sheds, workshops, granny flats and pumps are often on separate circuits or separate meters, and whether they sit behind the same meter as the house changes what your solar actually offsets. Worth sorting out on the quote rather than discovering later.

Usually yes, but the design has to account for it. With panel-level optimisers or microinverters, shade on one panel stops dragging down the rest. What we will not do is quote you a plain string system on a heavily shaded roof and let you find out in winter.
Yes. What matters is whether the second building sits behind the same meter as the house. If it does, your solar offsets it directly. If it has its own meter, the options are different. We check the metering as part of the quote.
Mudgeeraba is about 15 minutes from our Nerang base. The hinterland is normal territory for us, not a special trip, and we do not charge a call-out to quote.
