Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)

The federal government's main solar subsidy. Every eligible installation earns a number of STCs based on your system size and Queensland's climate zone. We sell them on your behalf and pass the full value back as a discount on your quote — you never have to do a thing.

Cheaper Home Batteries Program

Since July 2025, the federal government has been offering around a 30% discount on the cost of installing an eligible battery. This is applied through your installer at the time of purchase — no rebate forms, no waiting. Ask us to include battery pricing in your quote.

Depending on your circumstances, additional rebates or interest-free loans may be available from the Queensland government or your local council. These can be stacked on top of the federal STC discount. We'll let you know what applies when we quote your job.

Why Accreditation Matters

You Must Use an Accredited Installer to Qualify

The federal government requires your solar system to be installed by a Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accredited installer to be eligible for STCs. If your installer isn't accredited, you lose the rebate entirely.

Rebate FAQs

How much will the rebate save me?

It varies by system size. A typical 6.6kW residential system in South East Queensland currently attracts a discount of roughly $2,000–$3,500. Larger systems earn more STCs. We'll show the exact figure on your quote.

Will the rebate reduce over time?

Yes. The SRES scheme is scheduled to phase out by 2030, with the number of STCs reducing each year. The sooner you install, the more you receive. The 2025 rebate values are still strong but will be lower in 2026 and beyond.

Do I have to apply for the rebate myself?

No. You sign over the STCs to us when you sign the contract, and we apply the equivalent discount to your price. You never interact with the Clean Energy Regulator directly.

Does the battery discount apply to all batteries?

The Cheaper Home Batteries Program applies to eligible batteries installed by an accredited installer. Not all batteries qualify — ask us when we quote and we'll confirm which systems attract the discount.

Are there additional Queensland government rebates?

State and local schemes vary and change over time. We stay up to date on what's available in South East Queensland and will flag any additional incentives that apply to your situation when we quote.
